My new obsession right now is Instagram! I can't tell you enough how inspiring it is to see all the great projects out there! Yarn, glue, paint and balloons is what we were all about this morning! My plans were to create an earth that we could eventually hang somewhere probably in our front hallway! My first step was to keep the love buggians busy while I set up our project. A little bit of string kept my older guy busy while my younger guy played with his train. Just enough time to mix up my paint/glue mixture! But wait! Oh no! I was out of glue!!! I substituted flour and water and hopefully (fingers crossed) it worked.
My youngest always goes along with our creative endeavors but my oldest embraces them with his whole being! At one point my youngest love buggian decided to engage in some water play! But before he abandoned us he explored the paint mixture and yarn. I think he would have been content just painting the balloon. He wasn't too crazy about getting messy this morning.
We started using paint brushes, however it was much more effective to dip the yarn in the paint and then move it all around with his hands.
I ended up finishing the other "earth" - it was a lot of fun!! As my oldest said, "That was really, really, really fun!!" He has been asking me all day if we can pop the balloons! I think by tomorrow we should be ready - totally fun and really not that bad to set up or clean up. I covered our table with a plastic table cloth that wiped clean and contained all the drips!
I had an old paint container on the side that was ready for the recycling! My oldest snatched it up and said, "Mommy! Red! And quickly added it on top!" I never time our projects - but really should start. I am guessing he painted for a good thirty minutes!!
